BBQ and Art

It is definitely the end of the school year! It has really been interesting to be involved in all of the traditions of a new school. Today they had the annual school BBQ. Parents are invited to come and have a big BBQ at lunchtime with the kids. Since Landon has Fridays off, we were both able to go and have lunch with the kids. They had everything set up outside, and there was a huge line of kids and adults when we got there. Lan and I decided that we wouldn't eat the cold, lunchroom hamburgers that the kids were eating. They didn't seem to mind.

It was also "appreciating the arts" day. The kids went from room to room doing different art projects. They all had a chance to do some side walk drawings with chalk. In the cafeteria, each class had a display of an art project they had done. The kids were all excited to show us their art. I didn't realize what a big deal this was going to be. Only 2 1/2 days left of school, but who's counting.
