My babies

(pardon the panties)
Landon went upstairs to check on the kids late tonight before we went to bed, and this is what he found. The girls had snuck into Colton's bed, and they were all sound asleep together. I love little moments like this.

It's so classic that Kennedy is on top of Whitley. She is the worst to sleep with. She is constantly kicking you and rolling on top of you!

Farmers Market

We got up early this morning and went to the farmer's market. We have been waiting for this to open since we moved here. We love to wander through the market at look at all of the crazy, fun stuff that people are selling. Everyone had told us about the "salsa guy" and we weren't disappointed. We sampled all of his yummy salsa, and loved it! We got some Rainer cherries, and the most delicious breads you ever had!!We are already planning our trip back next Saturday for more bread. The kids ended up with some marshmallow shooters, and we've regretted ever since. I've been hit twice in the face, and man do those marshmallows hurt when they're moving that fast. For dinner tonight we had the missionaries come. We grilled some shish-kabobs, corn on the cob, homemade rolls (Rhodes rolls are as homemade as I get) salad and some great potatoes that I got from the pioneer woman's blog. We had eclair cake for dessert. All in all is was a great meal. Elder Keddington is from Centerville, UT and was so friendly. He's only been on his mission for 3 months! Elder Frost is from Gilbert, AZ!! Can you believe it. He is awesome. He goes home in November and can't wait. They taught the kids a little lesson on the Plan of Salvation. It was really cool to have them in our home. They were both such neat guys, and I can't wait to have them come over again.

So there you go. Another Saturday in the Moe Hole!

I've been tagged

I have somehow avoided being tagged for quite some time. Oh well, here goes...

Need to do list: 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3 random surprising facts about myself. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog!

JOYS

1-My children. I know everyone puts this, but it's soo true. They are the joys of my life!

2-Laying out by the pool or at the beach. I know it's not pretty, but there's really nothing in the world I would rather do

3-Landon. How could I have a list of joys without him. He really is the reason I get out of bed in the morning (that and I have 3 kids waiting for me to fix breakfast). He really does complete me and knows me better than anyone in the world. I know when we're old and gray, and our lives consist of getting out of bed and sitting in our rocking chairs, that we will be laughing our guts out and loving every minute of it.

FEARS

1-That something will happen to Landon and I will be left here alone as a single mother.

2-Spiders. I freakin' hate them. I think they're just foul!

3-That someone will hurt my kids and I won't be there to protect them. The thought of them getting kidnapped, and being scared and alone makes my skin crawl.

GOALS

1-Move out of Moe Hole! (Is there really any reason to list any other goals???)

2-To pay for all 3 of my children's college education. Landon's parents paid for his entire education. What a blessing it was to graduate from college debt free.

3-To have my kids all get married in the temple, and be able to go often together as family.

CURRENT OBSESSIONS/COLLECTIONS

1-Clean laundry. I am obsessed with my family smelling clean. There is nothing that makes me happier than the smell of fresh laundry.

2-I'm obsessed with figuring out the password to my computer. It is pretty much consuming me. It's the most frustrating thing that I've locked myself out of my own computer-DUH

3-Caramel. If it were possible, I would survive on it. Who am I kidding, I am surviving on it.

RANDOM FACTS

1-I got married when I was 12. Okay, not really, but almost. I was 18 almost 19 and my mom went nuts. At the time, I didn't understand why. Now that I have 2 daughters of my own, I WILL kill them if they try that.

2-My Jr. year in high school I played on the varsity basketball team and was a cheerleader at the same time. I use to cheer at the boys basketball game, and then my mom would drive me to the other high school, while I changed out of my cheer leading uniform, and into my basketball uniform.

3-I took piano lessons for 8 years while growing up. I hated every second of it, and vowed that when my mom would let me quite, I would never play again. I held true to my word for about 15 years, and then when we got a piano I started playing again. I really wish I hadn't wasted 15 years being stubborn. Sorry mom!
Now I tag...

The Buzz

I love the summer because I know the buzz cut is on its way. We have been giving Colton a buzz cut in the summertime for as long as I can remember. Each summer I wonder if he's still going to want to do it. I thought for sure he'd be to cool for it this summer. NOPE! He needed a haircut tonight, and I suggested the buzz. He was all for it. It reminds me of how he looked as a little boy-aw

Kung Fu Panda

I took the kids to see Kung Fu Panda today. Yes, there is actually a movie theater here in the Moe Hole! Anyway, we loved it. Pretty funny and very entertaining.

Oh Kennedy

How do I love Kennedy, let me count the ways! Kennedy was in her prime today! She loves to play hair dresser, and do Landon's' hair. She gets all of the combs and water and gel and goes to work. Today, she decided that he needed a haircut, and that she was just the girl to do it for him. Needless to say, Landon said NO. So, she snuck into our bedroom, locked the door, and gave herself a little trim. Luckily it was just a little bit off the bottom, and you can't even tell! This is not the first time that she has done this, but after the chewing out she got, it might just be her last!
Now then, my girls are not allowed to wear make-up until they're 12. Not even just playing around. (Kennedy has Whitley to thank for this rule) Anyway, this is no secret. This is not something that Kennedy doesn't know-in fact she has been in trouble before for sneaking in my bathroom and slapping on some make-up. Tonight when the home teachers came over, she thought it would be a great idea to slip into my bathroom and try on a little mascara! She came waltzing out like nothing had happened with mascara not only on her eyes, but on her cheeks and nose as well. (As a side note, she has the most amazingly long eye lashes and when she can wear make-up, she's going to be gorgeous) After our home teachers left, I questioned her about the make-up and she completely denied it-DUH! After much thought, her punishment was no dessert of any kind for 3 days. This doesn't sound like too much, but this is my child who asked for ice cream every single night.
For those of you who have the pleasure of knowing this sweet child of mine, you know this is just another day in the life. I've said it before, but I'll say it again. We are in for the ride of our lives with this one! I don't even want to think about how it's going to be around here in about 6 years!

Lazy Days of Summer

Just a quick update as to what's been happening at our house this week. NOTHING! Talk about lazy days of summer. We have spent several days at the pool. There's nothing in the world that I'd rather do than spend the day in the sun while my kids play in the pool. The great thing about THE pool here, is that there's always someone there that my kids know from school to play with.
We are still trying to figure out the password to my computer, so my internet access has been very limited. We have a couple other ideas of how to break into it, that we're going to try out this week. Wish me luck!

We finally finalized our summer vacation plans. We've been throwing around several ideas, and going along with EXPERIENCING new things while we live here, we decided to go to Seaside OR. It's a cute little beach town along the Oregon coast! We've heard nothing but great things about this little town from lots of people up here who've been. So we thought, what the heck, let's do it! The best part about the whole trip, is that some great friends of ours from AZ. are flying up to meet us and spend the week. YEAH YEAH YEAH!

Lastly, Landon took Colton camping this weekend. He got this crazy truck/tent thing for Father's Day and just had to give it a try. It's actually pretty cool. There's nothing Colton would rather do than go camping with his dad. He's had a bag packed for like 5 days waiting to go. He took his throwing knives, BB gun, sling shot and who knows what other kinds of weapons to play with while they are there. You gotta love little boys.

Whitley's famous

I don't know about you, but my kids love to see their names anywhere! They think they're famous. Colton and Kennedy seem to have a much better chance of seeing or hearing their names than poor Whitley does. If you know Whit, this does not sit well with her. We were driving the other day, and came upon this fuel tanker. Very cool. The only other time Whitley has seen her name is at California Adventure there's a building called the Whitley Building.

Back from Italy-FINALLY

After I took the kids fishing on Saturday, we decided to get a hotel in Spokane, and meet Landon there when he got home late that night. That we he wouldn't have to drive home after a 17 hour flight, and we could go out for a nice Father's Day dinner. It didn't quite happen as I planned.

Landon made it from Italy to Philadelphia without a problem. He then had a 3 hour delay in Philly. They sat on the tarmac waiting for their turn to take off for 3 hours! By then he had missed his connecting flight in Chicago. He got finally got to Chicago around 10pm. He went right to the customer service line-which he claims was about a mile long. It took him 3 1/2 hours to get to the front of the line. The next flight headed to Spokane left at 6AM, with a stop in Denver! So my poor, ragged husband found a bench in the Chicago airport and slept for a couple of hours before he boarded yet another plane! Finally at 10am Sunday morning he arrived in Spokane! YEAH

Meanwhile, I took the kids swimming and out to dinner trying to pass the time. We took Landon to Outback for Father's Day, and then went back to the hotel for another night. Landon was in bed and out cold by 6pm.

Father's Day

(this is the only picture I have of Landon on this computer-still can't get into mine)
When I was a little girl, I use to dream about my "future" husband. Who didn't? Well, lucky for me I actually found the man of my dreams. Now let's be honest, Landon is not perfect. But he's pretty dang close. There are thousands of things that I love about him. I'll spare you the details. I think by saying that we laugh together every day sums it up. We crack each other up, and have developed the exact same sense of humor. He knows what I'm thinking way before I'm even gonna say it, and vice a versa. He completes me, and I don't even want to know a life without him.

Gone Fishin'

A couple of months ago, I signed the kids up for this fishing day that the city was putting on. I didn't realize at the time that it was going to be when Landon was in Italy. I DON'T FISH. I don't eat fish, I don't touch fish, I don't bait hooks-none of it. Luckily there were a ton of volunteers there helping, and Colton knew how to bait the hooks. They each caught 2 fish (the limit) then they had a station where you went to get them cleaned! I spared you the pictures of that. The kids had tons of fun. They even got to keep the fishing poles, and of course they got a t-shirt to remember the day.

Summer Swimming

I took the kids swimming today at the water park! They had a blast. They ran into some kids that they knew from school, and they were gone. The weather was definitely better today. The girls got a little cold after a while, but Colton never did slow down.
We packed a big lunch, with lots of snacks, and stayed for most of the day. There's nothing I'd rather do in the summertime than take my kids to the pool. I grew up swimming, and my kids love it just as much as I do. The best part, is when we get home they're wiped out. They jump in the shower, get into their jammies, and settle down for dinner. When Landon's in town, the day is literally done. Yeah yeah yeah for summer swimming!

FORTS FORTS AND MORE FORTS

OH YEAH-IT'S DEFINITELY SUMMER. LET THE FORT BUILDING BEGIN...IT SEEMS LIKE THE SECOND MY KIDS ARE OUT OF SCHOOL, THEY GO RIGHT FOR THE FORT! THEY LOVE TO MAKE THESE AND THEN SLEEP IN THEM. I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MANY DINNERS WE'VE EATEN STANDING UP BECAUSE THE CHAIRS ARE HOLDING UP THE FORT! THE GIRLS ARE PLAYING WITH FRIENDS RIGHT NOW, AND COLTON IS THE ONLY ONE HERE. HE'S MAKING THIS ONE FOR A SURPRISE FOR THE GIRLS.
I TOTALLY REMEMBER BUILDING THESE WHEN I WAS LITTLE. ANYONE ELSE?

It's offically summer

Today was the last day of school! The kids got out at 11:30am, and then we went for lunch. We ordered an Ice Cream cake for Lanny for Father's Day, and took Colton to his friends house for a swim party. There's always mixed emotions on the last day of school. The kids are always excited about a break, but will miss seeing their friends. I always look forward to the summertime. We are always so busy during the school year, that we pretty much take the summer off! We swim alot, and I love just playing with my kids. Hopefully it gets warm enough to swim up here. It's cloudy and rainy and only about 75 degrees. Everyone keeps telling me it's going to get warm and sunny. It's getting harder and harder to believe!

Landon is still in Italy. Although this is a business trip, they have been able to do a little sight seeing. Last night, they broke up into teams and did an amazing race to dinner. At the end of dinner, they had to take an hour boat ride back to their hotel. They didn't get to bed until almost midnight. He said they were all sweaty and stinky, and pretty miserable. I think his exact words were something like "It's gross here. No one shaves or wears deodorant. The canals stink, and it's really humid. I'm sick of seeing sculptures of naked men!" I think he's a little over tired, and ready to come home. He has met alot of nice people from Terex (the company that owns Genie) so that's a good thing. We're all anxious for him to come home.
